The Prophet Muhammad (saws) was quoted to have said: “There is no intellect like planning.” Join Ramy Salah, MD in a workshop to help guide you through medical decisions for yourself and your family. You will be able to create a personalized plan to honor your wishes, have your questions answered, and complete a new or revised Advance Directive for Healthcare. Furthermore, we will be able to address these difficult but necessary conversations from the unique perspective of being Muslim navigating the healthcare system in the 21st century.
Dr. Ramy Salah Bio
Ramy Salah was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He finished medical school and residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA. More recently, he completed the fellowship program at UCSF in Hospice and Palliative Care. His interests include Islamic bioethics, end-of-life care for Muslim patients, and has an ongoing research project interviewing imams and Muslim chaplains around end-of-life care. Lastly, he presented a poster on the Islamic perspective on the withdrawal of life support at the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
