Biographies
Shaykh Alauddin El-Bakri began his study of Islam at a young age in North Africa and continued his education in Islamic Sciences in Jordan, learning from some of the most preeminent teachers in the Muslim world. He has a Bachelor degree in Islamic and International Law and a Master degree in comparative religion. He has served the Muslim community in the United States in numerous capacities, serving as the Imam at several Islamic Centers and establishing full-time and weekend Islamic schools.
He was also the Founding Board member of IMAN: Inner-City Muslim Action Network in Chicago, an organization dedicated to educating and lifting up the inner cities. In 1999, he accepted the role of being book editor at IQRA in Chicago, IL. In
2005 he was a founding member of My Dean in Fresno, CA, an organization dedicated to educating Muslim youth in faith and life. In 2017, he co-founded Support Life Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the socio-economic lives of people in the Bay Area and around the world. In 2018 he founded Tawasaw.org, an organization dedicated to educating Muslims on how to apply Islam in their modern daily life. His main focus is on helping Muslims develop a deep understanding of the self, life, and faith.
Dr. Babak Ayazifar Br. Babak Ayazifar emigrated from Iran as a teenager. Upon graduation from Notre Dame High School in Riverside, he pursued his undergraduate studies at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena.
He then moved to the Northeast for his graduate education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Br. Babak has been a member of our ICCNC community since 2005 when he moved from Massachusetts to the San Francisco Bay Area to join the faculty of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley.
