2022 Annual Fundraising and Celebration

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

“Surely those who read the Book of God, are firm in devotion, and spend of what we have given them in secret or openly, can hope for a commerce that will not decline” (Quran 35:29)

ICCNC has started its end-of-the-year annual fundraiser, and we are asking you to donate generously to ICCNC to sustain its programs and services to the community in 2023. With blessings from Allah (SWT) and your generous contribution, we hope to reach our goal of $85,000 by December 31, 2022.

In 2022, ICCNC continued its services to the community with your continuous support. Here are the highlights of the ICCNC’s activities this year:

  • In partnership with Support Life Foundation, boxed and distributed 60,000 pounds of groceries and produce at our weekly food bank. In addition, as a hub, we coordinated the distribution of nearly 100 tons of groceries and over 1000 hot meals to the other Islamic centers, mosques, and communities in the East Bay and the Peninsula.

  • Prepared and distributed over 20,000 meals and close to $30,000 of supplies (sleeping bags, tents, warm clothing, shoes, socks, and personal hygiene products) among Oakland's unhoused.

  • Facilitated placement of multiple unhoused families into permanent housing, provided them with furniture and kitchen supplies to start their new life and aided them in their job placements.

  • Produced and broadcasted special nightly Ramadan programs through our YouTube Channel for the entire month of Ramadan.

  • Commemorated various religious events, including Ramadan, Muharram, Eids, and Milads, hosting esteemed scholars via Zoom and YouTube.

  • Organized and held three quarterly debates and offered bi-weekly discussions by Dr. Abdulkarim Soroush on the relationship between science and religion to broaden and deepen the general public's understanding of religion in the 21st century.

  • Organized lectures on Masnavi, Ghazzali, and Iqbal Lahori by Dr. Soroush to increase our knowledge of Persian and Islamic mystical literature.

  • Provided essential Islamic services to the community, such as marriage, burial, and memorial services.

  • Conducted weekly Friday prayers and broadcasted the Khutbahs via Zoom and YouTube.

  • Continued interfaith work and celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the Oakland Faith Trio.

  • Expanded our YouTube Channel content with close to 11,000 subscribers.
