A Report on the Food Pantry at ICCNC
Since October 2021, every Wednesday from 11 AM to 1 PM, ICCNC and Support Life Foundation distribute groceries to those experiencing food insecurity in Oakland.
More than 15 volunteers from ICCNC and Life Support Foundation distribute a variety of canned, dried food, and fresh produce to about 300 families weekly. May Allah (SWT) accept all their hard work.
Food insecurity, especially in the Bay Area, has worsened in recent months due to the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic, higher housing costs, and inflation. Therefore, the roles of the food banks and food pantries have become critical in combating hunger and food insecurity in the area.
Those who like to help with this great cause can volunteer every Wednesday between 10 AM to 2 PM. Please contact Ms. Suzaun Hirbod at suzaun.hirbod@iccnc.org to volunteer and receive more information. Also, you can donate to this cause by going to the ICCNC website and selecting "Combating Food Insecurity Fund" under donation categories.
