ICCNC’s 2025 Annual Year-End Fundraiser: Celebrating 30 Years

With the blessing of Allah (SWT) and your unwavering support, the Islamic Cultural Center of Northern California (ICCNC) is proudly entering its 30th year of service to the community. In the upcoming year, together we will celebrate 30 years of deepening our faith, safeguarding our cultural heritage, keeping our unity, and being compassionate toward each other and humanity. 

To celebrate this significant milestone, ICCNC is launching its annual year-end fundraiser. We kindly request your generous donation to improve our programs and services throughout 2026. With your contributions and God’s favor, we aim to reach our goal of collecting $150,000 by December 31, 2025.

Thanks to your continued generosity, ICCNC achieved the following in 2025: 

Summary of Our 2025 Accomplishments

Leadership & Governance

  • Implemented the new bylaws and elected seven new members of the Board of Directors as the next generation of leaders, who began their term in September.

  • Completed a five-year strategic plan with the aid of a consultant.

Building Renovations

  • New Stucco and Paint - Started adding a new stucco and paint to the entire building since the existing stucco and paint was failing. The total cost of the project is $285,000 and is now 60% complete.

  • Window Replacement - Signed a contract for $130,000 to replace two-thirds of the existing windows with new energy-efficient ones. The windows were ordered and will be installed in the first quarter of 2026.

  • Disabled Access - Installed a wheelchair elevator on 15th Street entrance to the ICCNC building to improve accessibility with a total cost of $42,000 and was completed in September 2025.

  • New Security Cameras and Lightning - Installed new security cameras and energy efficient lights to improve the building security with a total cost of $8,000.

  • Other Improvements - Improved the existing fire escape for safer access with a total cost of $8,000.

Spiritual & Educational Programs

  • Recruited Dr. Ahmad Rashid Salim as the ICCNC Resident Scholar to address the spiritual needs of the community, especially the youth, young Muslim adults.

  • Offered two new multi-month Islamic courses from Dr. Ahmad Rashid Salim: “The Qur’an: Sound and the Sacred” and “(Re)Introduction to Islam: God, Beauty, and Justice”

  • Hosted regular online lectures and discussions series in Farsi by Dr. Abdulkarim Soroush on Quran, Masnavi, and Kimiyae Saadat.

  • Held online debates and discussions with various scholars on “Belief and Unbelief in a Post-Secular Era.”

Community Services

  • Distributed groceries to over 500 families weekly in partnership with Support Life Foundation and volunteers from our community and interfaith partners.

  • Served over 400 hot meals weekly to Oakland’s unhoused population.

  • Provided Islamic services such as marriage, burial, and memorial services.

Religious & Interfaith Engagement

  • Commemorated major religious events such as Ramadan, Muharram, and Eids.

  • Conducted weekly Friday prayers and broadcasted Khutbahs via Zoom/YouTube.

  • Initiated monthly Dua Kumayl gatherings on the first Thursday of each month.

  • Organized and hosted the first Sunni-Shia unity Ashura program at ICCNC. 

  • Continued interfaith collaboration with the Oakland Faith Trio

Media & Outreach

  • Expanded our YouTube channel viewer to over 18,600 subscribers (30% increase from last year), 800,000 views for the year.

  • Produced more than 200 new videos with 290,000 hrs of viewing for the year.

Charitable Giving

  • Distributed Zakat. Fitra, Fedyah and other religious donations to nonprofits serving the Bay Area, Iran, and Gaza.

  • Directly distributed Sadaghah and Fitra to the needy individuals or families living in the Bay Area.
