Eid al-Fitr 1441 and Zakat al-Fitr
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
The month of Shawwal 1441 new moon is born on Friday, May 22, 2020, but cannot be seen anywhere in the world. The new Shawwal moon will be sighted with the naked eye in North America and most places around the world on Saturday, May 23, 2020; therefore, with a high probability Sunday, May 24, 2020, will be the first day of Shawwal and Eid ul-Fitr. Inshallah, by 10:00 PM on May 23rd, ICCNC will announce if the new crescent was sighted in North America.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ICCNC will have a virtual Eid Prayer on Sunday, May 24, 2020, starting at 9:00 AM via Zoom Inshallah. Please click here to register for the Eid Prayer Zoom Meeting.
We will open the service by having the Eid’s takbirs followed by a guided Eid Prayer and Khutbah (sermon) by brother Ahmad Rashid Salim. Following the Khutbah we will give the participants a chance to wish everyone an Eid Mubarak greeting and we will show the Eid cards and photos that we have received from you.
9:00 AM – Welcome and Takbirs
9:15 - Guided Prayer and Eid Khutbah (sermon) with Br. Ahmad Rashid Salim
10:00 - Sharing Eid Cards, Photos, and Greetings
