A Successful Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr at ICCNC
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
ICCNC held the Eid al-Fitr prayers and celebration on Wednesday, June 6, 2019 at the Center's Main Hall. Br. Ahmad Rashid Salim led the prayers and delivered morally and spiritually uplifting sermons (Khutbas). More than 300 worshipers joined the prayers that were held at 8:00 and 10:00 A.M., followed by a wonderful community breakfast to celebrate the end of Ramadan and arrival of the Eid. During Ramadan, ICCNC held 14 events including the first Sunni-Shia Ifar, the Ramadan Open House, and four nights of the Laylatul Qadr special programs. Mr. Mostafa Daneshgar was the special guest lecturer during Ramadan. He gave 10 superb and informative talks during this time.
With the help of the community members and volunteers, ICCNC served more than 1600 Iftars to the worshipers and prepared and distributed 500 meals to the homeless and the needy in the Oakland area. Moreover, ICCNC collected approximately $8500 of Fitrah, Fidyah, and Kaffarah dues that the Center will distribute among the Muslim needy, primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area.
ICCNC wants to thank all the community members and volunteers who worked tirelessly during Ramadan and supported the various events with their time and donations to make this Ramadan a spiritually and intellectually enriching month for all at the Center.
