Biography
Dr. Fatemeh Sadeghi is a researcher and lecturer in political thought and gender studies. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Tarbiat Modares University and has taught at the University of Tehran, Islamic Azad University (Karaj), Rokhdad-e Tazeh Institute, and Porsesh Institute.
Her publications include Gender in Ethical Thought, Gender, Nationalism, and Modernity in Pahlavi Iran, Unveiling: Rereading a Modern Intervention, Constituent Power, The Sin of Women: The Entanglement of Zoroastrian and Islamic Religious Laws (in English), and Poetics and Politics in the Islamic Imagination (in English, co-authored). Her translations include Life as Politics by Asef Bayat, Women and Gender in Islam by Leila Ahmed, A Theory of Modernityby Ágnes Heller, and The Feminine Mystique by Betty Friedan.
In recent years, Dr. Sadeghi’s research has focused on the role of political imagination and narrative in the formation and reconstruction of political life. Her forthcoming book, The Age of Appearance: The Battle of Narratives in Iran, is scheduled to be published by UCL Press.
